Assateague (17ft)

The Assateague is the kayak for large paddlers, those whom other kayaks don't quite accommodate. At 17'10" long, 22.5" wide, and accommodating paddlers up to 250 lbs, it offers the space, stability, and responsiveness that larger paddlers deserve.

Its 17" x 32" cockpit is precisely sized for long legs and larger thighs, with easy entry and exit. Its shallow V-hull ensures excellent initial stability, while its flatter rocker gives it speed and a solid grip in turns. With over 10,000 cubic inches of storage, the most generous in the range, it's ready for long expeditions.

The Performance Series is for those who want a sea kayak that glides effortlessly, maintains good speed, and remains stable and predictable when the water gets rough. These hulls are designed for “real performance”: reasonable width, shallow V-shaped hulls (for stability and control), and profiles engineered to offer a good balance between tracking, maneuverability, and expedition capability (large storage volumes depending on the model).
